Fall Winter 2019-2020

On Tuesday, May 28, in the packed hall of the Alternative Stage of the National Opera at the Cultural Center – Stavros Niarchos Foundation, which for the first time hosted a fashion show, presented with great success, his new exceptional style and aesthetic collection for the Fall-Autumn 2019 -2020 entitled “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and clear references to what makes us feel that the energy inside us is overflowing, equivalent to overturning and approaching the limits.

Stelios Koudounaris presented in his winter collection 3 unique celebration outfits dedicated to CÎROC, that captured the characteristic sapphire blue color of CÎROC, highlighting the special style and the brilliance it represents! Extraordinary atmospheric lighting, a wonderful setting that reserved surprises, the live music accompaniment by Bob Katsionis who adapted the iconic Nirvana song “smells like teen spirit” accompanied by strings by String Trio by Violin Events and Music and the Circular movement of the models on the stage with the exceptional clothes of Stelios Koudounaris, impressed the guests. A great round of applause and enthusiasm accompanied the bowing of Stelios Koudounaris at the end of the show, confirming his innovative and inspiring creations.

The independent, free, dynamic, with femininity freshness, nostalgic and with dress code that highlights her personal raw truth, is the woman from whom Stelios Koudounaris was inspired by his collection.

He envisioned a new, more luxurious grunge look and redefines his design values with intense use of color. For the first time, he uses black as a complementary element and not as a protagonist. Turquoise, burgundy, gold, green and royal blue are the colors that define the designer’s new collection, where oversized coats, architecturally designed patterns, ornate ruffles and pants that are away from the body play a key role. Airy metal dresses and striking tricolor pleasantly surprise, once again finding their place in the winter wardrobe.

Woolen plaid, cotton velvet, eco-leather, fluid wool, metal silk crepes, stripes, corduroy and ecological ponyskin are the materials used by Stelios Koudounaris, creating a diverse look of colors, materials and textures.

The artistic director of the show Andreas Ioannidis underlined the simple architecture of the room in which he composed a special artistic environment and fashion director Aris Georgiadis praised the wife of Stelios Koudounaris, a representative of Generation X in the future, who has his eyes on him. The successful presentation of this original project owes a lot to project manager Eliza Chrysopoulou.
